Steve McCanne told me that the only up-to-date version of this code is
what's in the BSDI kernel.  Needless to say, this irks me; traditionally
basic Internet protocols were developed on free (or nearly free) systems
and the code was made available to everyone.

Anyway, I don't have time to deal with this mess.  If you want to find a
semi-recent version of the code and integrate it, go right ahead.
