Hmm.  I've always cut into a buffer with '"a3d' instead (preceding the
command with the buffer name).  This is how the vi manual says to do it.
Perhaps the other way works on SunOS as well, but I can't see how.

Wouldn't that make a pair of commands like '3d"ap' kind of ambiguous?
