especially for those who use NetBSD on an amiga, or on a sparc, right?
Or for those who install it in /usr/X11, where X software is
*supposed* to be installed...


NOT.  It *IS* optional software, and there shouldn't be random
dependencies on optional software in programs like ldconfig.

What happens if the XFree86 people decide to change the name of
their directory to "XF86", like they did with their server?
Gonna keep *both* paths in ldconfig, for compatibility?  God,
the possibility for endless stupiditity in this is amazing...
IT DOES NOT BELONG IN THE LDCONFIG SOURCES.
