Summary of Changes to the Packages Collection in September 2006
===============================================================

By my calculations, at the end of September 2006, there were 6229
packages in the Packages Collection. During September, we lost 27
packages, mainly due to our bidding a fond farewell to the old mozilla
and XFree86 packages, whilst we gained 18 packages and a brand, new,
shiny branch, pkgsrc-2006Q3. My sincere thanks to everyone for helping
out with the pkgsrc branch.

The Package of the Month award goes to sysutils/rsnapshot, a file
system backup utility based on rsync. It was nominated by a developer
who had probably better remain anonymous - when he was asked why he
thought rsnapshot was so good, he replied that "it was easier to set
up than tar." Thanks, T., your secret is safe with us.
