Subject: 1999 USENIX Annual Technical Conference, FREENIX track - extention!

The deadline for abstracts has been extended from December 2nd to
December 15th. Those of you who have not yet submitted an abstract
(which really need be no more than half a page in length) and wish to
present a paper at the next USENIX conference on a free software topic
should DEFINITELY GET YOUR ABSTRACTS IN BEFORE THE 15th!

This is the very last extension we'll be able to make, so please don't
delay! The full papers aren't due until April 27, 1999 (camera ready
copy date) or May 11, 1999 if you don't intend to submit your paper
for publication in the proceedings, so all we really need from you by
December 15th is a simple abstract.

The FREENIX track at the 1998 conference was one of the most popular
tracks in USENIX's history and I hope all of you will join me in
making the 1999 conference an even bigger forum for free/open source
software discussion. If you've been doing something interesting in
the world of free software this last year, this is your chance to tell
others about it!

The USENIX technical conference is and always has been a very unique
and special event for Unix users and next year's conference, set in
beautiful Monterey, CA., promises to be an especially good one given
all the focus on open source lately. So please, send in your
abstracts!

All abstracts should be sent to: freenix@usenix.org
Due date: December 15, 1998.
Camera ready copy: April 27, 1999
Final FREENIX papers due: May 11, 1999

Or see http://www.usenix.org/events/usenix99/ for more information.

Thanks!

  1999 FREENIX program chair.
