I am pleased to announce the start of the NetBSD 1.2 release cycle.

Next week the release branch will be cut, and in the following weeks
we will be busy fixing bugs, closing problem reports, making binary
snapshots, polishing, cleaning, and refining. There have been a lot
of improvements since NetBSD 1.1; this looks to be a very exciting
release.

Since changes sometimes cause build problems, it is customary during
the release cycle to increase the frequency of ftp/sup tree updates.
This will begin when the release branch is created. This will allow
users to keep in closer sync with development.

The help of the NetBSD user community is needed to make this release
even more successful than the last. Please continue building -current
and submitting problem reports. Your contributions are invaluable.
