NLUUG fall conference call for papers
Thursday November 6, 2008
De Reehorst
Ede (Gelderland, The Netherlands)
CALL FOR PAPERS
Mobility
The market for mobile applications is predicted to be several times as
large as the market for traditional computer (desktop) applications
within a few years. These new applications require new techniques and
present us with new challenges, both technical and managerial.
The programme committee for the NLUUG Autumn Conference solicits
contributions from speakers with a tale to tell about mobile
applications. Possible topics are:
* Mobile UNIX hardware - the iPhone, Nokia tablets, Android and
OpenMoko
* Using mobile networks (EDGE/UMTS/HSPA) and roaming
* Mobile applications - GPS and maps, bluetooth advertising,
multi-player games, mobile payments, NFC and RFID
* Frameworks for mobile applications, both native and Java
* Issues in high-latency and low bandwidth applications
* Programming for efficiency and battery life
* GUI design for low performance systems and small form factors
* Wireless mesh
* Safe and secure mobile access to corporate networks and
applications
* Security breaches in mobile applications
* Management of mobile applications
The NLUUG Autumn Conference will be held November 6th 2008 in De
Reehorst in Ede, the Netherlands. Concurrently on the 6th and 7th the
ELC-E 2008 conference will be held in the same location, organized by
the CE Linux Forum. Submissions may migrate from one conference to the
other, if the speaker agrees and talks are more relevant in the
alternate conference. Members of the NLUUG may attend the ELC-E
conference on the 6th as part of the NLUUG Autumn Conference.
The ELC-E conference is held in English; the NLUUG conference is in
Dutch or English at the speaker's discretion, although English is
preferred.
We encourage everyone with an interesting tutorial or presentation topic
to send an abstract before June 29, for evaluation by the program
committee. Abstracts can only be sent via the WWW:
