What about Poseidon/Neptun - carries a Trident, too. If he's being
equipped with a net, he looks good, too. Furthermore, being divine and
very powerful, he's an impressive mascot. =) Also, it stirs associations
to "like a fish in the water". Like "NetBSD is at home on the 'net like a
fish in the water".
On the other hand, OpenBSD has got a fish already, so it might not be 
that good, after all...
