Part of the problem may lie with Caldera. While both UnixWare 7 and
Open UNIX 8 run on Unisys boxen, Caldera hasn't come up with a port
for the Itanic, which will be in the next incarnation of the ES7000.
Microsoft has a port of Windows XP for Itanic.

Unisys is in trouble, and Microsoft has the $100000 Windows datacenter
that doesn't have many high end machines that it can run on.

Microsoft has the edge, so they can just keep adding features and not fix
the problem. Right now they are working on filesystem changes that will
effectively make Samba stop working.
