The serial interface is in fact the only "whatnot" of the SH4 used in
the Dreamcast that is not core CPU stuff like caches and MMU.
There's plenty of custom chip in the Dreamcast.  Both the graphics and
sound ICs contain SEGA special custom stuff.  So the DC is not any
more SH4 + PSU than a Playstation is MIPS + PSU.
