Hi,

from what I know "high end" is a very "strechable" terminus (like
nothing in a computer can be treated as "high end" as used for
audio equippment).

The so-called "high end" soundcards I have seen seem to require:

extensive shielding,
multiple I/O: digital input output as plastic, glass and copper,
analog usually with XLR than cinch,

and the cards will usually cost more than USD 700,--.

The guillemot studio max series seem to be called high end.
