SuSE has (have not compared with other runlevel systems)

0 Halt (=shutdown -h now)
6 Reboot (=shutdown -r now)

S Single User Mode
1 Multi User Mode without Network (= 1 + multiple consoles)
2 Multi User Mode with Network (standard)
3 2 with Xdm
4 and 5 not used (or free for that)
