Odd.  I haven't seen this at all.

Nope.  Nothing is running at this point, except the kernel--and it's
just trying to init the swap.  The changes I made to this were a long
time ago (about a month) in at least autoconf.c and swapgeneric.c.
Look for the problem in those files.  If you find it, please let me
know--I didn't see anything when I scanned the code.

swap and root, BTW, are assumed to be on the same device, but I'd expect
a different error if this were the problem.
