Yes.  This is why I wanted to avoid using the ROMs whenever possible.
In the case of ADB handling, though, I think Brad's right in that this
is a basic enough function that the ROMs shouldn't need any patching
for it.  Certainly not for basic functionality.  There could be some
abstruse kind of hang that would be fixed in a patch, but just getting
a few keystrokes or something like that should be fine.
