As you've noted, nothing.  At least directly.

However, he does have the power to make the Linux porters' life more
difficult -- e.g. there will never be gcc support for apple hardware
(so, as i mentioned, we can't get a m68k-mac68k-netbsd, or whatever it
should be, target into the gcc2.6 configur script for NetBSD).

And if he doesn't like it, he certainly can be unhappy and/or whine
about it.

From what i can tell, the FSF is still going "strong" on the hurd, and
aren't putting much support behind linux at all.
