still unsolved. bash won't compile nicely for me. gets confused about what
machine i'm runing under. bah. apparently just substituting csh doesn't work
since i do get a prompt but everything i type gets directed to dev/null.
and those damned control codes still haunt me. termcap problem?
OTHERWISE, the whole port works rather nicely. i applaud alice for their
good work.
