I installed what was said in the faq:

dev.tgz,misc.tgz,bin.tgz,sbin.tgz, and etc.tgz 

to see if it would work.  It locks after swapping devices right after
the scsi probe.  I noticed one thing, in the new binaries there is
no misc.tgz so I used the last one I had.  My question is, did I just
royally mess up(definately not out of the question here) or did I not
install enough?

And I'm using the latest kernel I found too(71194)
