If we were to sign up with Apple for a non-disclosure agreement and pay
them for, say, documentation on the floppy drives, two *bad* things would
happen.  First, we'd have to actually pay money, and probably a lot more
than we are willing to or capable of.  (Please pardon my dangling
participles.)  Second, we wouldn't be able to give away the source code
for the floppy driver and possibly other modules.  The upshot is that
MacBSD would become a commercial product, and the thought of that makes
the little hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.
