Could anyone point me towards some online (preferably!) information about BSD?

I am trying to dig into the entire source heirarchy, and understand the
whole damn thing.  But I'm coming at this without much background, and
without any detailed info on this stuff.  I want to understand how it
all fits together (and particularly how MacBSD works with all this
stuff, and what it overrides)
