Hi,

has anyone had luck with Dan's HappyIIsi kernel (netbsd.950508 from
magnus@mit.edu) on a IIvi/vx?

I tried this kernel on my IIvi and got a hang when coming to the
grf0 device.

...
<ADB stuff goes well>
...
clock started -DRR
mainbus0 (root)
ite0 at mainbus0 (minimal console)
adb0 at mainbus0 (ADB event device)
nubus0 at mainbus0
grf0 at nubus0panic: kernel jump to zero
trap type 2, code = 0, v = 0
pid = 0, pc = 0x000f32e6, ps = 0x00002200, sfc = 0x00000001, dfc = 0x00000001

register dump ....
stack dump ....
panic: illegal instruction
<repeat some fourty times>
<stuck>

I use a Lapis II graphics card (ColorServer II Lapis-15, CS II-15L)
with a 15" monochrome display (no internal video).

The graphics card used to work with NetBSD 1.0 and it even prints all
the boot messages up to and including the above mentioned messages.

The kernel I compiled myself (sources from sometine in april) and Dan's
kernel (possibly compiled with an older version of grf.c) both hang at
the grf0 device.

Any ideas where to look for the trouble?

Ciao
 Walter
