This is probably not what you want to hear but ... it will remain in beta
until it's ready to release.

On the bright side let me tell you that RC1 should arrive in the next few
weeks.  There are a few more updates that need to be done + documentation.

This is not really a progress indicator but you can view pending pullup
requests here: http://releng.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/req-4.cgi
(not all tickets are urgent and will make it into the 4.0 release though).
