Sorry for not noticing this -- I did check the mailing list, but before
getting the specific error message about 'uninitialized lock'.

With your patch applied, the slower machine is now happily
proceeding with a 'build -j 4 build' and the faster machine
is also building simultaneously with a cvs update in pkgsrc.

Until now it looks to work all right.

I'll report back if any problems occur (and also if not -- just to confirm
your patch).
