I think so. I suspect that the interrupt is not being processed
correctly and keeps interrupting the handler until it runs out of
stack. I tried putting a sti right up the top of the interrupt
handler (and adjusted the rest of the code so it was correct). Doing
this I managed to get the machine to boot to multi-user once, I
rebuilt the kernel again and tried another reboot and it went back to
panicing.
I turned on interrupt debugging and the interrupts look ok to me....
