Thank you in advance for your reply. Could someone please tell me after CVS
upgrade from 3.1 to current tree, what happens to personal settings and
settings of all softwares installed before? 

Well, most important ones are KDE 3.5 related.

I know most of settings are in /home/username/.something but there are also
softwares depends on /usr/share/* ones ie; linux emulations.
