You could try the native JDK 1.5.0 from pkgsrc-wip's wip/jdk15.
Or the IBM JDK for Linux (it runs fine on -current).

FWIW: I tried downloading the app, and was able to run it on an
older i386 -current from April 23 using lang/sun-jre15-5.0.11:
