Hi,

the changes incorporated in rev 1.146 of procfs_vnops.c result in linux apps
(tried openoffice) making the system unusable: soffice hangs "un-killable",
ps hangs on another terminal, and eventually no more logins are possible.
Reverting back to 1.145 makes the soffice useble again, but hanging while
trying to exit (without further disturbing the system):

289 ttyp1  DE   0:00.00 /opt/nb/openoffice.org2.1/program/soffice.bin 
330 ttyp1  I    0:00.00 /bin/sh /opt/nb/bin/soffice
