I have also noticed that, just as when I first tried it back in March,
layered filesystems do not play well with LFS--at least if the lower
layer is FFS.  I eliminated a null mount that I had and now and
haven't had a panic so far.

Until this is fixed, perhaps there should be a warning somewhere to
use that with care (or not at all)?
