Is this a known issue (I'd imagine so, it's hard not to notice), and
is there anything I can do about it?  I've tried adjusting
vfs.lfs.pagetri, but that doesnt help in this case.

I started a chmod on my source tree, and it consumed 95% of my CPU for
at least 7 minutes, probably more.  With FFS+softdep, it would've
taken far less time and CPU.
