In the archives I see quite a few instances of "laptop keyboard dead after
boot". None seem to really go anywhere. One of the messages suggested that
acpi had something to do with it, but they all at least had an error message,
eg pckbc command timed out. On the Toshiba Satellite A30 that a student
just brought in, I get no keyboard and no error messages... Would anyone
like to try anything while have this laptop netbooting, so in a state
where it is easy to try new kernels?

% grep pck dmesg.boot
pckbc0 at acpi0 (PNP0303): kbd port
pckbc0: io 0x60,0x64 irq 1
pckbc1 at acpi0 (PNP0F13): aux port
pckbc1: irq 12
pckbd0 at pckbc0 (kbd slot)
pckbc0: using irq 1 for kbd slot
wskbd0 at pckbd0: console keyboard

(i386 kernel from today's source)
(acpi, ioapic + all the FIXUP options)
