I manage to enable some debug information. The last lines printed looks like:

viaide0:1:0 after reset, sc=0x1 sn=0x1
wdcintr: inactive controller
viaide0:1:1 after reset, sc=0x1 sn=0x1
viaide0:1: wait DRDY st0 0x0 st1 0x0

I still dig this issue ...
