Hi Jared. I've tried GENERIC.MPACPI from 2006/07/14 on a Lenovo T60
(Intel Core Duo) with mixed success. The kernel boots fine, and both
CPUs are found (which is whizzy). Most devices seem to work, except that:
* the gigabit ethernet: on my first boot, the dmesg showed that it
couldn't pull out the ethernet address:
ppb1 at pci0 dev 28 function 0: Intel 82801GB/GR PCI Express Port #1 (rev. 0x02)
pci2 at ppb1 bus 2
pci2: i/o space, memory space enabled, rd/line, wr/inv ok
wm0 at pci2 dev 0 function 0: Intel i82573L Gigabit Ethernet, rev. 0
wm0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 16 (irq 11)
wm0: PCI-Express bus
wm0: No EEPROM
wm0: unable to read Ethernet address
This did work on subsequent boots, however.
* the wireless ath0: but this isn't working under
GENERIC/GENERIC_LAPTOP either.
ath0 at pci3 dev 0 function 0pci_mem_find: expected mem type 00000000, found 00000004
cannot map register space
Suspend doesn't work, however: I see the message saying it's suspending,
another message about pckbd suspending, and the laptop's little moon
light (indicating it's asleep) comes on. But the screen remains lit
with no other change in content, and the machine is effectively hung.
dmesg and lspci -v are attached. (My MONOLITH configuration just
includes GENERIC.MPACPI and adds some of the PCI* bios options.)
Brian.
