It's odd: I bought the laptop in England and am using it in England.

hw.ath0.countrycode = 0
hw.ath0.regdomain = 100
# sysctl -w hw.ath0.countrycode=44
sysctl: hw.ath0.countrycode: sysctl() failed with Operation not permitted
