afaict, PLX PCI 9036C2 is not an ethernet controller but rather PCI bus
master chip, used in e.g., Intel i82596 ethernet controllers.

what kind of machine is this?  NetBSD has two drivers for such chips,
mvme68k-specific ie(4) and hp700-specific iee(4).
