Seems that it doesn't recognize the chip. I finally built xorg.

Xorg is worse. They claim they support the chip - log file seems to say
otherwise. It has problems trying to run on a system that already has
XFree. It seems to become confused because the card has analog and
digital inputs.

And maybe the binaries on amd64 just aren't quite right.

I guess I'll try installing Solaris 10. The box is useless as a desktop
under NetBSD.
