Subject: SPIC stopped working

Some time between 2 Jan and 21 Feb, the SPIC on my Sony GRX-690 laptop 
stopped being recognized (both 3.99.15 kernels).  Does anyone know off 
the top of their head what changed?  I haven't had a chance to go 
looking, yet, but just reverted to the older kernel.
