When I tried your patch I was able to reproduce another problem which
I encountered during the first attempt to build a toolchain:

Making nroff.n from /src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/src/roff/nroff/nroff.man
/src/tools/bin/nbmakeinfo --enable-encoding -I/src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc /src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc/groff.texinfo
/src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc/groff.texinfo:2247: Unknown command `slanted'.
/src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc/groff.texinfo:2247: Misplaced {.
/src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc/groff.texinfo:2247: Misplaced }.
/src/NetBSD-current/src/gnu/dist/groff/doc/groff.texinfo:2247: Unknown command `slanted'.
[many more errors deleted]
Too many errors! Gave up.
Too many errors! Gave up.
Too many errors! Gave up.

Restarting the build skipped over that error. There were no installation
errors which means that your patch sorts out this problem. I'll
therefore commit it.

	Kind regards
