Strange. I'm still running 3.99.9; you can have a peek at my kernel  
config here:
     http://www.invisible.ca/~jmcneill/netbsd/DISCOVERY

Does removing nsclpcsio and/or gscpcib make the problem disappear?  
I'm having a hard time trying to think of a correlation here...
