I have two ~identical boxes (i386), both running 3.99.9 from the same
build. One was upgraded from 2.99 or so, and the other was a fresh
install.

Both have the same amd setup, and according to md5, of all the files
that ktrace shows amd opening, only the /var/yp/binding/<domain> file
and /etc/hosts are different (the latter due to different $NetBSD$
tag)

On the upgraded box, amd is functioning ok.

On the freshly installed box, none of the amd mounts ever do more than:

ls /host/ran/h
ls: /host/ran/h: No such file or directory

and tcpdump shows that no packets leave the box.
Normal NFS mounts work fine.

Physically the only difference b/w the boxes is one is using an fxp
and the other the on board ex NIC.

Anyone suggest anything else to look at?
