Well, this worked for me:

./build.sh -D /usr/local/install -j 6 -x -N 1 build

The build completed fine, I expect release would work since, unless I
am very mistaken, it only has extra make targets to produce the sets
and kernels.  I will try again without the -a (and noting
that I totally nuked all the obj dirs) tomorrow and see how far it
gets.
