Subject: -current regression for my AMD64?

I haven't been building fresh -current kernels in a while, but decided
to try the latest to see how it would run.
I ran with a GENERIC; in the past, GENERIC has had problems (documented
elsehwere; mostly resolvable by disabling IOAPIC). However, GENERIC has
been usable---I installed a first pass at NetBSD from GENERIC (though I
had to build a kernel before the system became very usable).
Now, however, it's much worse: The system appears to lock up during boot.
I can't be 100% sure; due to IOAPIC, the ethernet cards are rendered
useless. The system gets to a 'login:' prompt on the local console and
then does not respond. Whether the (USB) keyboard is another casulty
of IOAPIC or whether the whole system has locked up, I don't know.
All I could do was hit the power button.
Interestingly, when I pressed the front panel button, the system
flickered, once, but stayed on (unless I held the button down for
about 10 seconds, at which point the system shut down). I don't
hit the power button very often, but I don't think that it should
flicker when I hit it; I think it should stay steadily on until
the button has been held for 10 seconds. I haen't tried a recent
IOAPIC-less kernel, yet, but this seems worth reporting. If the
INSTALL kernel "works" like this (or the installed GENERIC), then
the whole OS will be useless for people with systems like mine.
The rest of this email is the dmesg from an older -current kernel.
I can't send anything at all from the system under a -current
GENERIC built from yesterday's sources. I can't remember the last
time that I tried a GENERIC; I only know that at one time GENERIC
worked well enough that I could get bootstrapped by building a
custom kernel.
