Very interesting project.
But it seems like it runs a radius server on an AP. 
I'd rather set up main freeradius box with all the capabilities of the hostapd project pluss more and make the AP redirect all the radius requests there.
WPA is supported natively on FreeBSD and AFAIK David Young works on NetBSD port.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
