I compiled and installed src and xsrc yesterday and i don't have this
issues. My keyboard section in XF86Config looks like this:

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier  "Keyboard0"
    Driver      "keyboard"
    Option          "XkbModel" "pc105"
    Option      "XkbLayout" "de"
    Option "AutoRepeat" "600 30"
EndSection

and xmodmap -pk prints:

21         0xfe51 (dead_acute)     0xfe50 (dead_grave)    \
	0xfe5b (dead_cedilla)       0xfe5c (dead_ogonek)   \
