I had the same problem when i updated my machine from 2.0.2 to current.
I "fixed" this issue by shuting down the machine, turning the power
completely off and booting agagin. Only rebooting without disconnecting
the machine from the power source led to the problem that my cardbus
slot wasn't recognized correctly anymore and therefore my ath(1)-card.
