Whoa! I made a *tiny* mistake I think ;)
In fact, I wanted to create a filesystem with 4k per inode, not 4 bytes. I had 
misunderstood the newfs man page. Like I said, I was missing something 
obvious! Thank you for the help, it's been very useful.
