SJphone and linphone and kphone all used to make more sense of audio i/o a
few hits on current ago.

but now, its a swamp. a morass of silence, or (kphone) looping input state.

did something earth-shattering change in the ioctl() space for linux code
support, or for OSS emulation (not the packaged driver, the base emulated
one)?

NetBSD appears to have no working sipphone. this is really tragic.
