Will the APM or PNPBIOS probes only be deactivated if the ACPI probes
succeed or is a compile time thing?

I'm in the position of having a handful of x86 machines of vastly
different vintages kicking around and anything that allows me to run
the same kernel on all of them vastly simplifies things.
