"me too"

FWIW, also an on-board NIC on a Compaq desktop. I have other
machines, with other revs of fxp in, that are working fine; this is
the problem one:

fxp0 at pci0 dev 10 function 0: i82558 Ethernet, rev 5
fxp0: interrupting at irq 11
fxp0: Enabling receiver lock-up workaround
fxp0: Ethernet address 00:50:8b:4d:c6:bb
inphy0 at fxp0 phy 1: i82555 10/100 media interface, rev. 0

The "lockup workaround" message is fairly recent, I think.

fxp0: flags=3D8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        address: 00:50:8b:4d:c6:bb
        media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex,flowcontrol,rxpau=
se,txpause)
        status: active
        supported Ethernet media:
                media 10baseT
                media 10baseT mediaopt full-duplex
                media 100baseTX
                media 100baseTX mediaopt full-duplex
                media autoselect
