Yes, it's very difficult to know whether to increase or
decrease vm.{anon,exec,file}{min.max} if you don't know
vm.{anon,exec,file}{current,1minute,5minute,15minute}.  I wish that
sysctl had read-only variables for that sort of thing, and that systat
displayed them (on the bufcache page or the vmstat page).
