This appears to be the same issue I experienced with my epia 5000
board as described in PR 26007 (which I just moved from the kern
category to port-i386).

At present there isn't a fix, but I can confirm that the old
bootstrap from 1.6 works fine.

You may want to send an email to gnats-bugs@gnats.NetBSD.org with
the subject

just to note that your m6000 board exhibits the same behaviour.
