Subject: 'rpc.statd' chattering

I re-built i386-current with sources updated last evening
(23 January, US/Pacific) and now 'rpc.statd' is spitting out
the error message

Jan 24 13:46:51 goldfinger rpc.statd: Failed to contact host ^A^B^C^D^E^F^G: RPC: Unknown host

pretty much constantly. Running it in the foreground with the
"-d" flag doesn't seem to reveal anything. The error messages
are filling up my logs, but otherwise it seems to be working fine.

'dmesg' output below.
